Lab Director (or Principal Investigator)

Shinfeng D. Lin received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University in 1991. He is currently a Professor and Dean, in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, College of Science and Engineering, at National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan. Dr. Lin was the Director of the Bureau of Education, Hualien County, Taiwan, from Jan. 2002 to Sep. 2003. His research interests include signal/image processing, image/video compression, and information security. He has won gold medal award of 2005 International Trade Fair "Ideas-Inventions-New Products"(IENA), Nuremberg Germany. Dr. Lin is a member of Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu.


Lab Introduction

The members of IVP lab have been focusing on signal/image processing, image/video compression, and information security. Research topics include watermarking, human tracking, and pattern recognition. This lab has been conducting NSC projects including "Development of the Human Tracking and Identity Recognition System", "Forensics for H.264/AVC CODEC by Using Semi-fragile Watermarking", and "Content-Based Copy Detection Techniques for Digital Video Forensics", for the past three years.
