Prof. JiQing Han
received the B.S., M.S. in electrical engineering, and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 1987, 1990, and 1998, respectively. From June 1996 to January 1998, he was a Visiting Scientist in System Engineering Research Institute, South Korea.
Currently, he is a Professor of the School of Computer Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology. He is a member of IEEE, Vice Chairman of Society of speech processing, Association for Chinese information processing, Vice Chairman of Standing Committee of National Conference on Man-Machine speech Communication, China, member of the editorial board of Journal of Chinese Information Processing, and member of the editorial board of the Journal of Data Acquisition & Processing.
Prof. Han is undertaking several projects from the National Natural Science Foundation, 863Hi-tech Program, National Basic Research Program (973 Program). He has won three Second Prize and two Third Prize awards of Science and Technology of Ministry/Province. He has published more than 180 papers and 4 books. His research fields include speech signal processing and audio information processing.

HIT Speech Processing Laboratory was established in the early 1980s by the merger of three research group, and it is one of the earliest speech labs in China.
Currently we have three teachers, including a professor, two associate professors, and nearly 20 graduate students. Experimental site has about 200 square meters, and adequate network resources, speech processing related software, book.
The Lab is one important part of Ministry of Education - Microsoft Key Laboratory. Now our research focused on speech signal processing and audio signal processing.
We have completed a national research project, the National Natural Science Foundation, the National 973 Program topics, such as 863 projects and so on. The main research and work accumulated as follows:
( 1 ) "Voice technology Basketball Match Statistics System ," 1992 prize for scientific and technological progress ;
( 2 ) " Chinese text reading system " , in 1993 the second prize for scientific and technological progress ;
( 3 ) " command under high noise background speech recognition system ," in 1994 by experts, was awarded the advanced international level , domestic origination system ; 1995 prize for scientific and technological progress ;
( 4 ) " Airborne Command voice recognition and voice synthesis technology", 1996 ministerial-level scientific and technological progress prize ;
( 5 ) "telephone speech recognition and automatic conversation system " in 1997 through the identification ;
( 6 ) " high-noise environments Robust Speech Recognition " , in 2001 the provincial second prize ;
( 7 ) " Military speech recognition and synthesis technology", in 2000 through ministerial-level appraisal ;
( 8 ) " audio-based automatic monitoring broadcast television advertising technology", in 2005 the provincial second prize.
